Death of Dissent

I am so thankful God made this country kid a veterinarian before he made me a public servant and a columnist. Here is why. In January of 2007, during introductions at my first committee meeting in the Montana Legislature, I revealed my real job and left leaning legislators momentarily melted because they loved their veterinarian back home. Over time they learned my allegiance to my oath of office meant I would oppose their progressive agenda, so I slowly appeared less warm and fuzzy. There was a time when my human doctor counterparts enjoyed esteem like veterinarians. However, once they became woke and surrendered their virtue to big pharma and the ruling elite, they became little more than the streetwalkers of health care. Certainly, there are outliers who do not blindly submit to the controlling authority, but they are few.

The American Medical Association recently released a document encouraging healthcare providers to embrace phrases inspired by critical race theory, gender, and disability studies. Their goal is to give an “alternative narrative, one that challenges the status quo, one that moves health care towards justice.” What a load of Marxist garbage, yet it is also infectious. Last summer, the American Veterinary Medical Association embraced the woke lunacy by claiming our profession should focus on Diversity, Inclusion and Equity in the workplace. I am not sure what that means, but DIE is certainly the appropriate acronym.

Continuing their effort to silence those who refuse to submit, the AMA has adopted a policy to “combat disinformation by health care professionals” with disinformation being defined as any point contrary to the medical opinion approved by the government. Bless their little hearts. Dissent and discussion will no longer be allowed, and this brings me to my point. If your argument cannot stand the disparaging scrutiny of your colleagues, your premise is likely wrong, and your logic is flawed. This Thanksgiving I am so thankful God made me a veterinarian when the free exchange of ideas was considered thought provoking.

If I were allowed to ask questions, answer me this: After nearly two years, why is there no accurate and reliable test for SARS-CoV-2? If the solution to stopping the pandemic is mandated stroke pokes why are countries and states with the highest shot rate developing the most Covid infections? Why does natural immunity protect us from nearly every pathogen but this one? If ivermectin is useless, why does its mention elicit hysteria from woke doctors and administrators? How is jabbing 2.6 million children with the clot shot to protect adults differ from terrorists using women and children as human shields? Think about it.
