Illusion

The trophy wife and I were sucked into the cancellation vortex while flying the friendly skies over the holidays. We were headed to Hanford, California to celebrate Christmas with daughter Chelsie and her family. Our Billings to Denver flight was repeatedly delayed but we felt our three-hour layover in the Mile High City gave us ample cushion. We were wrong. Once in Denver, our three-hour wait became an eight-hour scramble from gate to gate until our Fresno flight was finally cancelled at midnight. It was clear and calm in Denver, so the weather issue was elsewhere. Because flight crews often jump a flight to work, if their commuter hop gets delayed or cancelled from bad weather, the delays snowball down the line until the entire system collapses. We witnessed the collapse. Suddenly, all our flights to and from California were cancelled, so we were stranded. We strolled to the United Airlines Customer Service counter where the line of not-so-patient cancelled passengers was a quarter mile long. After watching irritated travelers vent at gate agents, I added “airline customer service specialist” next to “rendering truck driver” on my list of jobs I never want. A trio of travelers from Virginia expressed disgust that reserve flight crews were not stationed at every major hub to avoid this cascading collapse syndrome. I explained how it was a manpower problem and how the nationwide pilot shortage has been made worse by airlines terminating experienced pilots refusing the Covid jab. This workforce problem is going to get worse because some of the pilots who did roll up their sleeves are now dropping dead. For example, on November 19, 2022, a pilot fell dead on a Chicago to Columbus, Ohio flight. Looking puzzled the Virginian asked, “If the pilot was so sick, why did they let him on the plane?”

“He did not have Covid,” I responded, “it was the shot which killed the pilot and because most airlines brag about 100 percent compliance with the poke mandates, aviators dropping dead in flight will be our new normal.” The only difference between pilots crashing to the ground and World Cup soccer announcers doing the same is the size of their crater. I heard crickets because Mr. Virginia believed the Covid shot was safe and effective. This was a retired, successful, self-employed executive who was completely unaware his reality was a manipulated illusion and this brings me to my point.

Stephen Hawking said, “The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.” All the doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, college professors and politicians promoting the clot shot as safe and effective are under the illusion they are knowledgeable. They are not.
