March closes out most basketball seasons.
As only one team emerges the tournament
champion, most futilely begin practicing every fall
knowing the odds are heavily stacked against them.
Answer me this:
Would you take to the court knowing your team
surrendered long before the opening tip-off?
Probably not, yet this exact situation exists
in the political arena when the right compromises
before the gavel raps.
Amazingly, Democrats capitalize on this
weakness as seen by them advancing their Marxist
agenda even though voters benched their team into
the minority.
Republicans should be scoring at will, but
they compromised before the ball was put in play.
Here is how.
God is the source of our right to life, liberty and
the pursuit of happiness and securing these rights
is government’s only function.
Nothing more, nothing less.
The restraints our Constitution places on the
federal government is problematic for progressives,
so ironically and possibly criminally, they ignore
the very document they swore to defend their first
day in office. For
example, Americans were shackled with Medicaid and
Medicare in 1964 and freedom in the form of dollars,
began shifting from workers to the ruling class.
Little by little, the impoverished and
seniors became trapped in dependency while the
producing class became trapped in debt.
As typical every time government meddles with
price controls, healthcare costs soon spiraled out
of control.
After five decades of this wealth transfer, the
ruling class began promoting the only solution to
market problems created by government intervention
was additional government intervention.
Go figure.
In 2010, President Obama and D.C. Democrats
implemented Obamacare; a program designed to
collapse under its own weight and it became the
largest tax increase in American history.
In 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016 Republicans
campaigned on repealing Obamacare and voters benched
dozens of beltway Democrats in response.
This brings me to my point.
Republicans symbolically passed dozens of Obamacare
repeal bills knowing President Obama’s veto was
certain.
President Trump’s Cinderella story surprised
all Democrats and ruling class Republicans and with
Obamacare repeal suddenly probable, leftists and
media propagandists insisted the GOP produce a
compromise replacement plan.
They did, thereby surrendering the point that
state sponsored healthcare is a necessary and proper
function of government.
It is not.
This was the mother of all turnovers with
America losing the ball on the inbounds play.
The GOP Freedom Caucus is correct, repeal
Obamacare without replacing it with a friendlier
flavor of tyranny.
