The Next To Last Chapter

Because it is impossible for anyone to write their final chapter, I can only pen my next to last chapter. Last week, I left you with the image of me doing a Damar Hamlin off the side of a Peloton, stationary bike. The trophy wife found me still strapped in my stirrups and she managed to free my feet and help me stand but I was as incoherent as Joe Biden with an ice cream brain freeze. My mishap provoked a Sunday morning visit to ER which became a week-long, all-inclusive stay in St. V’s Healthcare and Spa. After five days of continuous EKGs, chest films, CAT scans, Echocardiogram, Cardiac Catheterization and Cardiac MRI it was discovered my left ventricular wall was thinned and not sufficiently pumping blood. The condition is called dilated cardiomyopathy and it is the typical sequalae following myocarditis. Let’s pause here to mix in a little Greek philosophy.

In his 380 B.C. “Republic”, Plato wrote the Allegory of the Cave where select citizens were imagined to be confined in a cave in a manner where they could only see shadows of images illuminated by a nearby fire. The contest quickly became which citizens could identify the shadowy images the fastest. He theorized citizens would soon only identify items they had been trained to identify. Unfamiliar objects were completely baffling, and this brings me to my point.

Were my cardiologists confined in Plato’s Cave they may have been champions at screaming “safe and effective” every time they spotted the syringe-shaped shadow image. However, they would be baffled that the pokey thing might mean something entirely different. It does. For the past two years, the Covid jab has caused life threatening myocarditis in many athletes.

Now for the bad news. I have never taken the covid jab but nary a cardiologist, their professional staff, hospitalist, nor their staff ever asked if I had rolled up my sleeve for the poke. Therefore, if I suffered a spike protein induced myocarditis it had to come from community contact with someone jabbed and shedding. This is dangerous. The threat 270 million Americans could be spiking themselves plus the 60 million who refused the jab, will never be broadly accepted until this shadowy, stabbing image is projected on the wall of Plato’s Cave. Cardiologists, like veterinarians and plumbers, only see what they are trained to see, unless they think outside the cave. Ponder that.
