War of Words

I began this column in March of 2006 when I filed to represent House District #58 in the Montana Legislature. Other than my month-long stint when I made a feeble attempt to retire, I have put 52 thoughts on paper per year for 14 years. This calculates to 728 columns using old fashioned mathematical rules or 7,280 using a Dominion ballot tabulator.

Gazing at my blank laptop screen with nary a topic stresses me every week. It would be easier to fret an extra inch to my frame than force creative thought from my vacant mind. Ideally, an interesting happening hits me on a Monday, so I pound out a column, walkaway and then tweak it before submitting it on Friday. Wordsmithing takes time but it converts a boring read into one worth attaching to the refrigerator. Every single word serves a purpose, and I am finnicky about each one. I have had editors adjust my words to fit their political narrative, but I respectfully request they accept or reject my work as submitted. Altering a CM Russell scene with a yellow crayon because you think a wolf’s eye should be more yellow, renders the painting something other than a Russell.

My obsession with words not only affects my writing but also my consumption of the English produced from others. Patriots best be critical listeners because a word or phrase adopted, embraced, and repeated by media manipulators is generally done purposely. To understand what is projected or printed you must read between the lines. 2020 was the year of falsehoods and fabrications and recently I have noticed an “O” word erroneously repeated by leftists in elected office, collectivists in the judiciary, and media propagandists. It is far more fitting and proper to use the “R” words and this brings me to my point.

Only the willfully ignorant could possibly miss the massive election fraud which occurred in the battleground states. It was criminal, and perpetrators should be Covid-19 vaccinated, masked, and jailed. To say the election is being Overturned falsely implies a Biden victory; a lie purposely fed to the dimwitted and disinformed to inspire them to riot and steal when the truth is revealed. President Trump clearly won by landslide margins and during the joint session of Congress on January 6th, Representatives and Senators adhering to the Constitution must Restore Trump as Rightfully being Re-elected. Does the truth no longer matter in a woke world?
