Do You See What is Coming?

The winter snow was deep in the late 70’s and my older brother, Dana, and I were out feeding cows. Because we lived in the foothills, we usually drove the pickup loaded with a round bale to the top of a large hill and then rolled the bale down. Gravity did all the work. It was cold and we decided the horses back home could use a half bale of hay, so Dana and his dog Cody walked halfway down the hill to stop the last bale. (Do you see what is coming?)
When all participants were set, I gave the half-ton bale a shove. It began rolling. Due to ice caked around the bale, it wouldn’t unroll but it was picking up amazing speed. Dana is the type willing to take a hit for the brand, so he readied himself in a three point stance. Cody jumped out of the way. At impact, Dana weighed about 165 pounds. Within a millisecond he lost 15 pounds worth of snow boots, gloves, hat and the zipper in the left leg of his coveralls. (He didn’t see it coming.)
This story is about clairvoyance. So is politics. Governor Schweitzer is a follower of the global warming religion. Last weekend Helena hosted “The Climate Challenge: Strategies for Montana’s Future.” Former Billings Mayor Tooley recently attended Al Gore’s three day “Climate Project” indoctrination. Now he can return home and promote this religion in our schools. On September 18th Al Gore suggested taxing carbon dioxide emissions; tax the polluters rather than the payrolls. (Do you see what is coming?) Use hysteria, regulation, and taxation to curb free-market capitalism and increase the size of the dependent class.
Global cooling was a fish story in the 70’s and global warming is a fish story today. Please send me to Helena with my logic meter so I can stop this insidious move towards socialism. (Or don’t you see it coming?)
