The key to telling a good fish story is to make it such a whopper that it can’t possibly be true, but tell it with such conviction that you find yourself believing it.  Liberalism survives on fish stories.  Here are seven quick fish stories promoted by the political left, can you spot the one that is actually true?  (Or used to be true.)

         * “Global warming is a threat that all humans have in common, and will continue to threaten the earth as long as energy is recklessly consumed.”  Brian Schweitzer D-MT as quoted on StopGlobalWarming.org. 

        * “In ten years all important animal life in the sea will be extinct.  Large areas of the coast line will have to be evacuated because of the stench of dead fish.”  Paul Ehrlich Earth Day 1970

         * “A major cooling of the climate is widely considered inevitable.”  New York Times May 21, 1975

         * “The world’s climatologists are agreed.”  We must “prepare for the next ice age.”  Science Digest February 1973

         * “Within 20 years, this is the park that will be formerly known as Glacier.”  Al Gore, 2005 referring to Glacier National Park.

         * Because of global warming damage to the oceans, “we only have ten years left.”  Ted Danson 1988

         * “Eat your spinach.  It’s good for you.”  Mom
